Go Hands-Free with Guides from a Certified Safety-Excellent Shop

The tour is run by "Ishigaki Island ADVENTURE PiPi," operated by NASH Co., Ltd.

PiPi is a certified "Excellent Marine Leisure Provider for Safety Measures" (known as "Maru-Yu"), a certification given only to operators that meet the safety standards set by the Okinawa Prefectural Public Safety Commission. Only about 3% of operators in Okinawa Prefecture hold the Maru-Yu certification (as of August 2025).

The shop meets strict standards for guide safety training and operations, including mandatory life jackets, carrying an AED, and regular safety training for staff. That's why first-timers and families with children can join with peace of mind.

First, Choose SUP or Canoe

When you book, you'll choose either SUP or canoe. Talk it over with your companions and decide how you'd like to take in the scenery.

SUP means paddling while standing on a large board. From a standing position, you get a wide view of the sky and the water.

In a canoe, you paddle from a seated position. In a two-person canoe, you sit one behind the other and call out to each other as you go. If you'd like to share a canoe with your companion, let the staff know when you book.

In the Evening, Meet Your Guide and Head to the Water

The approximate meeting time is around 18:00 in summer and around 16:45 in winter. It changes with the time of sunset, so please check the meeting time for your date.

You can meet in front of the main entrance of the Ishigaki Port Ferry Terminal (Offshore Islands Terminal), or be picked up at accommodation in southern Ishigaki Island. If you'd like a pickup, confirm your accommodation and how you'll meet when you book.

Once you arrive at the site, you'll put on a life jacket, and your guide will show you how to hold and use the paddle. Even first-timers can set out on the water after learning the basics.

While It's Still Light, Explore the Mangroves

In the bright hours before sunset, you can also enjoy observing the mangroves. Paddle along as you look at the roots spreading at the water's edge and the branches reaching out over the river.

If a plant catches your eye, ask your guide about its name and characteristics. Even while you wait for dusk, you can experience the nature that makes Ishigaki Island special.

At Dusk, Watch the Sky and Water Change Colour

As sunset approaches, you'll enjoy the evening scenery at the staff's recommended spot. Following your guide's advice, look not only at the sky but at the water as well.

On a day with good weather, you may see the sky turn red and the light of the sun reflected on the water. Spending time on calm water, soaking in that view, is a favourite with participants.

How the sunset looks and the colour of the sky depend on the weather that day. The sunsets in the photos won't necessarily appear every time.

Back to Shore, with Sunset Photos as Travel Memories

When the cruise ends, you'll head back to shore. Your guide takes photos during the tour, and you'll receive the files free of charge.

The photos can capture you paddling, as well as you and your companions enjoying the sunset together. If there's a moment you'd like photographed, just ask your guide.

Because this is an evening tour, hot showers are not available. Wear clothes you don't mind getting wet, and bring a towel and a change of clothes.
