SUP or Canoeing Plus Snorkeling, All in One Miyakojima Tour
This combo tour pairs snorkeling in search of sea turtles with your choice of SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) or canoeing in the waters around Miyakojima. Choose a half-day tour of about 3 hours, or a full-day tour with a lunch break in between.
The schedule on the day may change depending on the weather and sea conditions. Below is an example of how the tour typically runs.

Safety at PiPi, a "Maru-Yu" Certified Shop
The tour is run by Miyakojima ADVENTURE PiPi, operated by NASH Co., Ltd.
PiPi is certified as a "Safety-Excellent Marine Leisure Provider" (known locally as "Maru-Yu"), a designation granted only to operators that meet the safety standards set by the Okinawa Prefectural Public Safety Commission. Only about 3% of operators in Okinawa Prefecture hold Maru-Yu certification (as of August 2025).
From strict life jacket rules and carrying an AED to regular safety training for staff, this shop meets demanding standards for guide training and operations, so first-timers and families with children can join with peace of mind.
First, Choose Half-Day or Full-Day, and SUP or Canoe
When booking, you'll pick a combination of tour length and on-water activity. Here's how the options differ.
■ Half-Day Tour | Two activities in about 3 hours Enjoy SUP or canoeing plus sea turtle snorkeling in just half a day. Ideal if you have other sightseeing planned.
■ Full-Day Tour | A day at sea with a lunch break Take a lunch break between the two activities. Lunch is not included, so please bring money for your meal.
Both tour lengths come with SUP and canoe options, giving you four choices: Half-Day + SUP, Half-Day + Canoe, Full-Day + SUP, and Full-Day + Canoe.

Meet Your Guide and Get Ready for the Water
Free pickup is available from accommodation anywhere on Miyakojima and Kurima Island. Irabu Island, Shimoji Island, and Ikema Island are outside the pickup area, so guests staying there meet at the site. Even within the pickup area, you may be asked to meet on site depending on bookings.
The shop will contact you the day before the tour with the meeting place and time. These vary with the season, weather, and tides, so be sure to check the message before heading out.
Gear rental is included in the price, and wetsuits are also available free of charge in winter. There are no restrooms near the site, so use the bathroom before meeting up. Once your guide has explained how to use the equipment and gone over the safety points, it's time to hit the water.
On the Water: Cruise by SUP or Canoe
SUP means standing on a board and paddling. You can also sit or lie down on the board, so there's no need to stay standing the whole time. Follow your guide and find the position that feels right for you.
Canoes are available as two-seaters. Paddling together while calling out to each other makes them popular with couples and families with kids.
As you paddle, look around and take in the white sandy beaches, rocky shores, and the shifting shades of the sea. When your guide takes photos, try getting a shot of yourself holding your paddle.

Next, Search for Sea Turtles Underwater
On the snorkeling part of the tour, you'll explore the underwater world with your guide. Put on your mask, peer down from the surface, and look for fish swimming around the coral and along the seabed.
You may spot sea turtles, but as they're wild animals, sightings can't be guaranteed. If you do see one, don't chase or touch it—follow your guide's instructions and watch from a distance.
After seeing the sea from your SUP or canoe, now you get to see it from below. Look out for things you couldn't notice from the surface, like the movement of fish and the shapes of the coral.

Finally, Get the Photos Your Guide Took
Photos taken by your guide during the tour are yours to keep as free digital files. With the guide handling the shots on and under the water, you can focus fully on the fun.
Photos of you paddling together or snorkeling underwater make great souvenirs. Look back on them with family and friends once you're home.
