Start by Choosing the Photos and Film You'd Like to Keep

Do you want to focus on photos, or enjoy a film as well? The time a shoot needs also depends on the number of outfits and locations. Here are the main differences between the plans.

■ Signature | For couples who want photos and a short film Everything in Photo Collection, plus a 90-second 4K cinematic film and a vertical short video.

■ Premium Full Day | For couples who want both kimono and dress in different settings A full-day shoot with two locations and two outfits, delivering 75 retouched photos and a 3-minute cinematic film.

If you'd like a film or a full-day shoot, check the matching plan and how to book in advance. Locations and conditions are confirmed before booking, and CJC handles any permit applications that are needed.

On the Day: Get Ready, Then Head to Your Chosen Location

The day begins with dressing and hair and makeup. Kimono take time to put on, so the schedule starts in the morning. You don't need to gather a full set of outfits yourselves, which leaves you free to get into the mood for the shoot.

If you choose Asakusa, the bustle of Nakamise Street and the backstreets of the old downtown area are all possible backdrops. Even a shot of you walking away or glancing back captures the atmosphere unique to a trip.

Below are sample shots from Tokyo. Use them as a reference when you talk about the places and mood you have in mind.

Even a shot from behind as you stroll down a lane can become a treasured memory. From the pattern of the kimono to the obi sash, your outfits are captured in detail.

Shooting in Asakusa: Striking Backdrops and Your Own Expressions

A commemorative photo in front of Kaminarimon Gate, or a shot that makes use of vermilion walls and lattice windows. Some of the Asakusa samples bring in the colours of the town and the character of its buildings.

Beyond neatly posed portraits, try holding hands or leaning in close. A touch of playfulness can turn a photo into one that shows who you are as a couple. Talk with the team about the compositions you'd like, based on what each location allows.

Not only formal poses, but your everyday banter too. Expressions that are truly yours become lasting memories.

Shooting in a Dress: With Tokyo Tower or Tokyo Skytree Behind You

For couples who want to be photographed in a dress, views of Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree are also possible locations.

In streets with a view of Tokyo Tower, photos can make the most of a flowing hem and your movement. In open riverside scenery, compositions that include the sky and water are especially memorable.

Picture your favourite Tokyo view and the dress look you want to keep, then talk with the team about where to shoot.

For a Night-Time Mood: Shinjuku's Neon Is Also an Option

If you'd like Tokyo at night as your backdrop, you can also ask about shooting in Shinjuku or around Tokyo Station. In the Shinjuku sample, the glow of neon overlaps with the kimono, creating a shot full of Tokyo's energy.

If you want night views, discuss the time of day and the details, including preparation and travel, in advance. If you'd like to go from a morning kimono shoot through to night scenes, it's important to choose a plan that fits the shooting time.

Finally, Enjoy Your Finished Photos Long After the Trip

The fun doesn't end when the shoot does. With the half-day photo plan, 50 retouched photos are delivered online 3 to 4 weeks after the shoot.

With the plans that include film, a short film can also capture your movements and expressions. Looking back at your photos and film after you return home extends the enjoyment of your day in Tokyo.
